Cave, famous for its insane bullet hell shmups, is taking full advantage of the reduced risk of self-publishing downloadable games. Following the worldwide iPhone release of Espgaluda II, Cave’s Makoto Asada announced that the company is planning to release the 1999 shmup Guwange on Xbox Live Arcade worldwide. In a separate post, Asada showed some [...]

Oh, ilomilo. Even though we still have absolutely no idea what’s going on gameplay-wise, after watching this new trailer, we can’t help but fall prey to this game’s immeasurable charm. It looks like you have to move boxes around to reunite the game’s pair of roly-poly protagonists, but we’re sure there’s more to it than [...]

Caution: loud music. Here’s a preview clip of Super Meat Boy in action, showing bits and pieces of the new levels designed for Team Meat’s upcoming XBLA platformer (also for Windows, Mac and WiiWare). I’m guessing that the video was made to convince voters to pick their game for a GTTV feature, so we will [...]

Sometimes all you need is 74 seconds to convince the world that they’ll want your game, as Sweden’s Southend have just proved with their debut trailer for upcoming Xbox Live Arcade title ilomilo. Tick the checkboxes: tiny, innocent fantasy world, puzzling gameplay on the order of underappreciated original PlayStation game Kula World/Roll Away, and I’m [...]

Sometimes, it’s the dead of night and you’re just sitting in the dark, eating some cold pizza and crying to yourself. You’re waiting for something good to happen. Then you kind of feel this tinge you can’t really define — it’s in the bottom of your gut, so you decide to tune into those nets. [...]

Indie developer Derek Yu’s Spelunky is making the platform leap from PC to Xbox Live Arcade some time this year, a release date we’re starting to believe courtesy of a quartet of new screen shots. The procedurally generated action adventure platformer—not to be confused with Spelunker HD for PlayStation Network—which Yu describes as “La Mulana [...]

A big congratulations to Introversion for their big day – Darwinia+ launched on XBLA. We don’t usually post release info (not that we don’t want to – it is just time constraints), but Mark has been such a big help to indievision (and the indie community in general) that we’d like to say – Please [...]

Though Microsoft’s XBLA Shadow Force has the real final say over when games are released on the company’s digital distribution service, Introversion recently announced on its forums that its upcoming action RTS, Darwinia+, will be set free on February 10 — set free for $15 (1200).

Introversion has made a strong plea for your support, citing a “minimum sales figure” that “has to be achieved” in order for the independent studio to carry on. A better reason to buy Darwinia+ — which features both Darwinia and Multiwinia in all its plusitude — is simply that it’s pretty fantastic.

Still not convinced? Check out the trailer above and those screens below. You’re welcome.

Even more classic Worms-style gameplay is coming to Xbox Live Arcade with Worms 2: Armageddon, a proper numerical sequel to Team17′s 1999 classic turn-based strategy game Worms Armageddon. Worms 2: Armageddon‘s trailer highlights the changes coming to the XBLA version—and eventually to the PC and Mac—including new vertical levels and other landscape types, all-new weapons [...]
