That mean robot bitch is still alive and she wants to play again, in the name of science of course.

Portal 2 will be out in 2011 for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac.

Why yes it is! Turns out that the third week of Mac releases on Steam will include Gordon Freeman’s second adventure against the Combine in Half-Life 2. Rather than simply release a press blurb about the game’s forthcoming availability, Valve has created this parody of Apple’s “1984″ advertisement featuring Alyx Vance. It is, much like the original, rather impressive (especially if you’re Half-Life dorks like we are).

Valve has not revealed the price for Half-Life 2 for Mac nor confirmed if Episodes 1 & 2 will also be made available tomorrow. The PC version of HL2 for Steam is currently priced at $20.

And while we don’t tell you about each and every one (there’s a handful of trailers right here, for instance), we do try and point out the ones that are particularly enticing. For instance, today’s trailer features the once-again-playable Luigi as he gets in on some Power Star collecting action himself.

It’s not clear whether the other Mr. Mario is playable from the get-go — in the first Super Mario Galaxy, Luigi only became playable after collecting all 120 stars — but he will clearly be a character that players can control. See Mario’s partner in time don an adorable bee suit in the gallery below and check out the new trailer just above.

It’s great news for us, but bad news for the clerks who have to work until the Witching Hour, just so some dude can fall asleep playing it an hour later, his drool and Cheetoh dust congealing into a loneliness gravy on his Big Daddy PJs.

Hoping to pile some extra coal into the hype train’s engine, 2K took up the whole first commercial block of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon with a 3-minute-15-second launch trailer. It’s a cool clip, but we get the uneasy feeling that the heavy reliance on non-gameplay, first-person action is just a touch misleading. That said, it’s just a couple of inches above this sentence, so you can judge for yourself.

For instance, what kind of full-torso tattoos would like? And how many mohawks do you want perched atop your skull? Three, you say? Wonderful, wonderful.

Though all of the characters designed in the video turn out horrifically homely, there certainly seems to be a lot of depth in the customization tools. We just hope there’s an option to shorten our characters’ arms, as all of the soldiers seen in the trailer above probably do a lot of tripping over their own forearms.

Ok, back to work here…

The latest Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet trailer might be old news now, as it’s had lots of attention in the last few weeks. I’d like to comment on it anyway, though.

The game looks fantastic, and appears to be an “all-azimuth” shooter. It doesn’t seem to have forced scrolling, and in this sense merges some platforming mechanics in with the shmup stuff. Hope this all works out, it should (at least on paper). There’s also an implied back story (alien explorer, all alone…) that I hope remains a subtle theme rather than something forced upon us through cut scenes. No need to spoil the mythos!

My main concern right now is the platforms the game will release for. It looks like the XBox 360 is the front-runner. That should mean a PC release. After all, a 360 is just a hobbled PC, right? And I already have one of those…

Anyway, this is a highly anticipated release in my household. Can’t wait to play this.
